MATCHING GIFTS MULTIPLY YOUR DONATED DOLLARS
Transforming education: Benefactors provide City Teaching Alliance donors with opportunity to double or triple impact
[Baltimore, MD] [September 25, 2024] – Now through Friday, September 27, #HalfMyDAF can multiply the impact of funds donated to City Teaching Alliance! #HalfMyDAF encourages donors to give directly from their Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) with the possibility of a 1-1 matched grant. For a limited time, gifts can even be tripled through a generous dedicated City Teaching Alliance match.
A grant matched through #HalfMyDAF has transformative power for our educators and can improve the lives of thousands of students. Beyond preparing educators to effectively lead in historically underserved and excluded classrooms, City Teaching Alliance is building a movement towards a brighter future. The nonprofit organization envisions a system in which every child can reach their fullest potential and pursue a successful career.
#HalfMyDAF was founded in 2020 by philanthropists Jennifer and David Risher and challenges DAF holders to release more of their charitable dollars to nonprofits, putting more dollars to work in our communities and helping address urgent needs across sectors. The program encourages donors to commit to spending down half of the money in their DAFs annually, and as an incentive, #HalfMyDAF offers matching grants to amplify the impact of dollars spent.
In addition to the #HalfMyDAF, grants allocated to City Teaching Alliance for teacher finances, access, and affordability have a guaranteed match up to $100,000 per gift. Generous partners, inspired by our mission, hope this matching opportunity will encourage others to join in our movement to transform education and maximize the good of all donors. These funds will provide vital resources to City Teaching Alliance’s educators including additional certification preparation. Most important, these grants will positively impact children and communities.
To participate in #HalfMyDAF, designate a grant to City Teaching Alliance, make a copy of the grant confirmation, complete a #HalfMyDAF commitment form, and attach the DAF grant confirmation. For more information on the process, check out these FAQs.
