Alliance Newsletter
FROM DR. RAHESHA AMON, CEO
Dear Friends and Partners,
As we reflect on an extraordinary year at City Teaching Alliance, we’re thrilled to announce a milestone that will shape our future: Dr. Shaun Harper, a leading authority on diversity, equity, and inclusion, will join us as our inaugural Scholar in Residence.
With a distinguished career marked by over 100 academic papers, 12 books, and extensive collaborations with major school districts like the School District of Philadelphia, Dr. Harper brings unparalleled expertise to our mission. As Provost Professor at the University of Southern California and founder of the USC Race and Equity Center, he will inspire innovation and strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across our program.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Harper and celebrating this exciting new partnership.
In other exciting news, on December 3rd, our vibrant community rallied together to support education on Giving Tuesday, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring all children have well-prepared teachers who nurture and care for them in classrooms across the country. If you made a gift to City Teaching Alliance on Giving Tuesday, thank you! We are very grateful for your belief in our mission.
We haven’t hit our funding goal just yet, but are confident we can with the continued help of our community. If you’ve already donated, please ask others to join you in supporting us by sharing this email and our social media posts. If you haven’t yet had a chance to contribute, there’s still time! And whether you’re donating or sharing with others, remember that campaign gifts dated through December 31st will be matched 1:1 – doubling the impact of all donations for our educators, students, and schools!
With your continued support and the collaboration of catalytic partners like Dr. Harper, we’re energized and inspired by all that 2025 will hold. Thank you for being a vital part of our Alliance. We wish you a joyful holiday season, filled with gratitude and hope!

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT WITH A GIFT TO CITY TEACHING ALLIANCE!
As we reflect on another year of growth, progress, and unwavering commitment, we are reminded of the power of education to shape the future. In classrooms across the country, City Teaching Alliance educators are not just teaching lessons – they’re nurturing dreams of becoming pilots, architects, veterinarians, business leaders, and so much more.
Your support makes this possible. Every donation helps uplift children, empower teachers, and transform the lives of students in our communities. When you give to City Teaching Alliance, you’re not just making an impact today, you’re investing in the future of education.
And for the rest of this year, your generosity goes even further. Thanks to the incredible support of our Alliance partners, all gifts made between now and December 31st will be matched dollar-for-dollar. That means your contribution has double the impact on our mission to ensure every child is taught by committed, well-prepared, culturally responsive educators!
Together, we can make dreams take flight. Thank you for believing in the transformative power of education!
We hope you will stay connected with us, our students, our educators, and our schools as we – and our growing network of powerful practitioners – continue to learn, innovate, and co-create the future of teaching and learning in our communities.
