Reflecting on ASU+GSV: Building the Future of Education, Together

The 2025 ASU+GSV Summit brought together a bold and diverse network of leaders reimagining what’s possible in education. City Teaching Alliance was proud to be part of both the ASU+GSV Summit and The AI SHOW @ ASU +GSV, where we showcased our work, learned from peers, and deepened partnerships that will help shape the future of teaching.

This year’s summit affirmed something we’ve always believed: real innovation in education doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in the community. That belief was evident in the conversations, panels, and connections throughout the week.

“ASU+GSV was a powerful convergence of innovation, equity, and inspiration,” said CEO Dr. Rahesha Amon. “I left energized by the brilliant minds in the room and grateful for the opportunity to share, learn, and explore what’s possible for the future of education.”

Preparing Next-Generation Teachers for AI-Enhanced Classrooms

At The SHOW, City Teaching Alliance was thrilled to lead a breakout session titled Preparing Next-Generation Teachers for Next-Generation Classrooms. Held on Sunday, April 6, this session focused on equipping new educators to confidently lead AI-powered classrooms from the outset of their careers.

Moderated by Dr. Rahesha Amon, our panel discussed how integrating cutting-edge technology, real-world classroom experience, and inclusive practices into teacher preparation is transforming education.

Attendees left with actionable strategies to implement this innovative model in their own communities, aiming to build a robust teacher preparation pipeline ready for the demands of modern classrooms. Check out a recap of our session at The AI SHOW on Instagram here!

An Inspiring Evening with Educational Leaders

A highlight of our presence at the summit was our role as a sponsor of the exclusive Superintendent Reception, where City Teaching Alliance CEO Dr. Rahesha Amon offered brief remarks. Drawing on her experience as a former principal and superintendent, Dr. Amon emphasized that meaningful educational change begins with supporting teachers, not just through recruitment, but through comprehensive preparation and sustained development across their careers.

She acknowledged the real challenges that districts face from teacher shortages to adapting to new technologies and reinforced that lasting solutions require shared leadership, collective strength, and a deep commitment to equity.

Her message was clear: we can build a stronger future for students by investing in educators and partnering boldly with one another.

Voices from the Field

City Teaching Alliance staff in attendance reflected on the energy and insights that emerged from the week:

“The 2025 ASU+GSV Summit was an unforgettable opportunity to engage with thought leaders shaping the future of education,” said Kim Ramsey, VP of Human Resources and Administrative Services. “One message that deeply resonated with me: education is no longer a finite phase, but a lifelong journey.”

“My favorite part of ASU+GSV was the opportunity to share our work at City Teaching Alliance with education leaders from across the country,” said Kayla Colianni, Chief of Staff. “Gathering together in one space to celebrate educators was truly inspiring and reinforced just how essential our daily work is to supporting teachers and students everywhere.”

Looking Ahead

As the Summit reminded us, the challenges ahead are complex, but we are not alone in facing them. Whether it’s integrating AI to personalize educator coaching, aligning teacher pathways with student outcomes, or reimagining certification and clinical practice, we’re inspired by the momentum across the field.

We return from ASU+GSV with new connections, fresh ideas, and deepened resolve. To the school systems, funders, innovators, and educators we met: thank you for your time, your leadership, and your partnership. We’re excited about what’s next and we look forward to continuing the conversation.
