Urban Teaching [City Teaching Alliance] Dallas Accepts $50K in Support; Educators Honoring During ‘Big Day’

They say everything in Texas is big and the support for Urban Teachers DFW and our educators is huge!

On September 14, 2021 our team accepted a $50,000 contribution from the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation and the Cotton Bowl Foundation. The grant, which was awarded for the second year in a row as part of the CFP Foundation’s “Big Day for Teachers” event, will help our Dallas team prepare educators who are committed to educational equity.

Members of the Urban Teachers DFW team and Urban Teachers alum Christane Crawford. As part of the “Big Day” celebration, the foundations also honored two Urban Teachers [City Teaching Alliance] educators, Jillian Lyles (Cohort 2016) and Christiane Crawford (Cohort 2017), with a $500 gift card and tickets to the CFP Semifinal at the 86th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

Ms. Lyles and Ms. Crawford were among the first educators to join us in Texas and now both teach at Uplift Grand Preparatory School in Grand Prairie, TX. We are proud of their commitment to nurturing inclusivity in the classroom and approaching their careers with a growth mindset.
